This afternoon, I caught Joseph making some phone calls, and by the look on his face I'm guessing they are pretty important ones! What a funny little guy!

Before Father's Day, Tim told me that what he really wanted was some daddy and son photos taken down in the park, so this morning we headed off to see what we could get! I think these turned out quite well!

This morning while I was cleaning up after breakfast, I let the water in the sink run a little too long, so I decided I might as well put all those bubbles to good use! Joseph has never seen dish-soap bubbles before and is very curious!

Our little hot pepper has really been into soft stuff lately, including pillows, stuffed animals, blankets, towels, beds, and couches. I guess he's finally realizing the value of a little comfort and relaxation! This afternoon, he climbed up on to the couch and started reading books. I just can't believe how grown up he acts sometimes!

We got home from DC just a bit ago, and headed right back out again to do some grocery shopping! Once again, Joseph is quite interested in all those grocery bags -- he's pulling out the cans and bottles and stacking them up! He's just such a little hoot!

We're back in DC today for another short visit to the beautiful temple here! While I'm inside, Joseph is just running and climbing his little heart out! After I'm done, we'll switch and Tim will do some work. It just feels so great to be here together today!

Here's more proof that our little guy is getting bigger all the time! Since he's had a runny nose lately, Tim and I have been doing quite a bit of wiping. I told Tim this afternoon that it would be so nice when he could wipe his own nose, and a minute later Joseph came nonchalantly walking out of the bathroom with a tissue up to his nose!

Joseph is also feeding himself applesauce with a spoon! While he's obviously excited, he's also quite serious about it and concentrating very hard!

Finally, here's a fun video of me tickling Joseph this afternoon!

This morning, Tim caught Joseph lying down on the job again! This time he is completely engrossed in his "Dinosaurs" book, one of his favorites lately. He likes to make a little roaring sound when he's reading it, or just to let you know he wants to read it. What a little smarty-pants!

We got our Flea! While we were on our camping trip, Tim and I thought about how fun it would be to have an instrument that we could sing along with around the fire, so we decided to give a ukulele a try! The Flea is a high-tech uke, with a molded plastic back that provides great sound, durability and cuts costs significantly. I'm already playing all kinds of fun songs like "Buffalo Gals" and "He's Got the Whole World In His Hands" and I just love it!

I have never seen Joseph lay down like this before! He is admittedly feeling a bit under the weather, but he usually can't bring himself to be still for longer than a few seconds, and definitely not on his back. When he saw this pillow on the floor this afternoon, though, he seemed to decide it was time for a break, and has now been lying here like this for several full minutes!

Guess who came by our feeder this morning? A handsome Eastern Bluebird who took just one bite of suet before heading off to find something better. I sure am glad he came by, though!

We're back in Blacksburg again after a rather interesting (we woke up one morning to find our bed covered with hundreds of bed bugs, and had to spend the morning washing and throwing away all our stuff so we wouldn't bring them home with us) trip home! Tim had to head off again right away to a conference in Springfield, MA, but now we're all getting back in the swing of things again. Here's a cute video of Joseph helping us put away the groceries this morning. He just loves being able to do what all the grown-ups do!
